Falling Into Autumn

Throughout the past few weeks the days have slowly begun getting colder. There is now a real chill in the air and leaves drop from trees like rain from the sky. The colours of fall are beginning to take over as the foliage of plants change like chameleons and almost every coffee house has brought back their pumpkin flavoured drinks.

The sun shines bright in the blue sky, just like in the days of summer, but it barely warms your skin as you turn to face it. Perhaps the sun is afraid it’s burnt the leaves red and brown and is turning the heat down to let them regain their green colouring.

It is now the time where jeans replace shorts, sweaters replace tank tops, boots replace sandals and scarves, mittens, toques and jackets are beginning to make their comeback. Out come the blankets and fuzzy socks. And hot cups of tea are on the agenda for every evening.

Despite the nip of cold on our noses or the gentle tingle of chilly feet, autumn is one of the coziest times of the year. After all, nothing makes a day better than curling up in a blanket with a cup of hot tea, a good book and your coziest sweater.

I’m ready to fall into Autumn, are you?
